Dear Students, Parents, and Caretakers,

Welcome back to TCT! Our Troy Center family continues to grow. We have expanded our support team and we are welcoming at least five new students to our classroom. Our room received a makeover this summer! We have brand new carpet, fresh paint and new cabinetry. Thank you to Mrs. Eve for all her efforts in preparing the room, going to pick up the cabinets, and much much more! Ms. Jeannette Eve will continue to be the Program Assistant for Tier 1 this school year and we are beyond blessed to have her in our classroom. She challenges the students to problem solve, find their passion, and to be creative.

Last year we were able to fundraiser to purchase a Keurig and the Hayes’ family kindly donated a refrigerator. Both items have been put to good use and are a part of the motivational system utilized in our classroom. Mrs. Eve and I want our classroom to be a safe place for our students, that is welcoming and accepting. We appreciate each and everyone of you who help us make our classroom a home!

CHANGES:
We will be making several changes this school regarding parent/student/teacher communication. This involves our binder system and being able to directly get in touch with me aside from using my email: alawrence@troy.k12.mi.us or our classroom 248-823-8323. We will talk more about the changes at our Open House on September 20th. You are always welcome to email or call! Please check the website regularly: for important Tier 1 updates posted here and great photos of the class/students per parent/guardian.
Classroom Needs: Supplies are divided up by first name
  • A-G: Four small Kleenex boxes and One role of paper towels
  • H-N: Three small containers of Clorox Wipes
  • O-Z: Two small boxes of K-Cups or one larger pack (student flavor choice: coffee, hot chocolate, etc.)
Students will use a planner! They may choose to use their phone, a personal planner of their style/choice, or we will provide a simple calendar template. Planner Due Date: September 5 (If using store bought planner).
We cannot thank you enough for your generosity in years past. This year we are asking that each student bring in $25.00 by September 5, 2018.  This money is intended to pay for the cost of classroom supplies (binders/portfolios), in-classroom positive behavior supports, occasional events related to our classroom only (not an ALL program event), etc. We will continue to work our absolute hardest to keep costs down for outings and in-classroom needs.

IMPORTANT DATES:
*August 31 and September 3 NO SCHOOL
*September 4th Half Day
*September 5: Planners and $25.00 Due

Let’s Stay In Touch!
With Warm Regards,
Mrs. Brynn Lawrence
