ATTENDANCE
Consistent school attendance is critical to a successful learning experience.
Students will be expected to call Troy Center when they are going to be absent, as  adult learners.
Parents are welcome to call as well, as verification. We will be practicing this skill and giving students a script to follow that will be placed in their student planner for easy reference.  Calling in an absence and using a phone are important vocational skills.

Although the majority of our students are adults and may need a “mental break” or day off occasionally, there may be natural consequences if we feel they are excessive in nature.  Students who are employed or have various scheduling considerations as deemed appropriate during their IEP meetings have an approved schedule.  Employers look for dependable workers.

Natural consequences may be:  inability to earn Friday Community Outings or the end of the Year trip, as well as, missing out on learning opportunities while absent.
